Located in Chatrons – the hub of Bordeaux's wine trade, the Musée du Vin et du Négoce explores the history of the world famous wine-growing region of Bordeaux and Gironde, since its introduction by Romans in the 1st century. The wine trade began to flourish after English king Henry married Eleanor of Aquitaine in 1152 and the Bordeaux 'Wine Privilege' ensured its primal status. Visit the museum to learn about the production and classification of wines, and sample some of the divine reds produced in the region.
