Housed in the Palazzo Olginati, the Civic Museum of Como has 2 sections – the Museo Storico Giuseppe Garibaldi or Risorgimento Museum, and the Ethnography Museum.

Housed in the Palazzo Olginati, the Civic Museum of Como has 2 sections – the Museo Storico Giuseppe Garibaldi or Risorgimento Museum, and the Ethnography Museum. The Palazzo Olginati hosted Garibaldi in 1866 during his campaign for independence from Austria, and showcases finds from the Napoleonic era, Risorgimento (including the 1859 Battle of San Fermo), and the World Wars. On display are weapons, documents, military equipment, medals, and photographs of the Risorgimento, along with 18th– 19thcentury textiles, accessories, ceramics, manuscripts, furnishings, and other cultural objects.
