The Teatro Massimo Bellini is an opera house named after renowned local composer Vincenzo Bellini. Inaugurated in May 1890, it has a Sicilian Baroque façade, leading into a grand marble foyer - the 'Ridotto' with a statue of Bellini and ornate stucco work. The concert hall in red and gold has a ceiling painted by Ernesto Bellandi, illustrating scenes from 4 of Bellini’s operas.
