Established in 1897, the Church Road Winery is New Zealand's third oldest winery. The Church Road Winery & Museum tour acquaints visitors with the history of Church Road and the winemaking process. You can also sample some of the wines produces as part of the Behind the Scenes Sensory Experience. Church Road produces 4 ranges – a Standard Church Road offering of classic Hawke’s Bay varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, rosé and a Pinot Noir-based Methode Traditionelle sparkling; the small batch McDonald Series Syrah and Marzemino; traditionally processed Grande Reserve wines made from low-cropping, hand-harvested plots; and the flagship Tom McDonald Chardonnay, Cabernet and Syrah. The Winery also hosts concerts.
