Part of the UNESCO designated Kruger to Canyons Biosphere, the Kruger National Park is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. Sprawling over 19,485 sq kilometres, the park is home to 147 species of large mammals including the Big Five game animals - lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and Cape buffalo. It is home to 517 species of birds, including 117 non-breeding migrants. The Big Six of birds include Lapped-faced Vulture, Saddle-billed Stork, Martial Eagle, Kori Bustard, the Ground Hornbill, and the Pel’s Fishing Owl. Amphibians, fish, and reptiles such as black mamba, african rock pythons, and crocodiles add to the ecological diversity of the park. Choose from bush walking trails, game drives, elephant-back safaris, and hot-air balloon flights to explore the national reserve.
