The Johannesburg Art Gallery has 15 exhibition halls and sculpture gardens showcasing collections of 17th century Dutch paintings, 18th - 19th century European art, 19th century South African works, and contemporary local and international art. Designed by Edward Lutyens, the stunning classical building is a work of art in itself. Only 10% of its collection is on display at a given time, and includes works by the likes of Pablo Picasso, Auguste Rodin, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Claude Monet, Gerard Sekoto, Alexis Preller, and Walter Battiss.
