The Johannesburg Art Gallery has 15 exhibition halls and sculpture gardens showcasing collections of 17th century Dutch paintings, 18th - 19th century European art, 19th century South African works, and contemporary local and international art.

The Johannesburg Art Gallery has 15 exhibition halls and sculpture gardens showcasing collections of 17th century Dutch paintings, 18th - 19th century European art, 19th century South African works, and contemporary local and international art. Designed by Edward Lutyens, the stunning classical building is a work of art in itself. Only 10% of its collection is on display at a given time, and includes works by the likes of Pablo Picasso, Auguste Rodin, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Claude Monet, Gerard Sekoto, Alexis Preller, and Walter Battiss.
