The History of Varna Museum showcases the development of the city as a port, and its growth as the cultural, industrial, commercial and medical centre during the years 1878 – 1939.

The History of Varna Museum showcases the development of the city as a port, and its growth as the cultural, industrial, commercial and medical centre during the years 1878 – 1939. Established in 1969, it explores the early years of the autonomous Third Bulgarian State that was created by the Treaty of Berlin in 1878. The museum is divided into 3 floors -

  • The first floor houses the crafts of the region, development of the port city, and other important developments of the past.
  • The second floor shows the transition of the city into a more and advanced place with resorts, hotels, beaches, etc.
  • The third floor showcases the city after liberation, with cafes, restaurants, and even recreated hotel rooms.
