City View Trolleys offer hop-on hop-off tours around the Freedom Trail and Historic Boston. A 1-day pass takes you to historic attractions in the heart of the city with live on-board commentary. A loop is completed in 1.75 hours, and you can opt to get off and on at any of the 9 major stops. Tours include a 45 minute Boston Harbor Cruise in season from May to October. Trolleys depart every 15-20 minutes from 9:30am through 5pm. They stop at the following points -

  • New England Aquarium on Boston Harbor, with Faneuil Hall (0.2 mile) and Quincy Market nearby
  • Paul Revere House on North Square with Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park (0.3 mile)
  • North End (Little Italy) with Copps Hill Burial Ground and Old North Church (0.1 mile)
  • USS Constitution with Bunker Hill Monument (0.5 mile)
  • North Station in West End with TD Banknorth Garden and Sports Museum all on Legends Way
  • Old State House with the Boston Massacre Site in front of it, City Hall (0.1 mile), New England Holocaust Memorial (0.3 mile), and Haymarket Square (0.4 mile)
  • Boston Common, adjacent to Public Garden and Central Burial Ground
  • State House on Beacon Hill, near Old Granary Burial Ground (0.3 mile), African Meeting House (0.2 mile), Charles Street Meeting House (0.6 mile), Kings Chapel Burial Ground (0.2 mile), and Park Street Church (0.2 mile)
  • South Station near Chinatown (0.3 mile), Children's Museum (0.3 mile), and Boston Tea Party Ship (0.2 mile).

Old Town Trolley Tours take a longer route which goes around South End and Cambridge. The complete loop takes 1.75 hours, and has 20 stops. 1- and 2-day tickets include a harbor cruise in season. From November to March, trolleys depart every 30 minutes from 9 am to 4 pm. From April to October, trolleys depart every 20 minutes from 9 am to 5 pm. The following points are stops -

  • Theater District, bordered by Boston Public Garden, Boston Common, and Chinatown

  • Boston Public Library on Copley Square in Back Bay, near Trinity Church (0.1 mile)
