Located along Cook Strait on the Southern Headlands Reserve between Houghton Bay and Te Raekaihau Point, the Princess Bay is a secluded surfing and diving beach. The decommissioned F69 Frigate Wellington that was sunk off Houghton Bay is a diving location. Part of the Taputeranga Marine Reserve, it has a decent ecosystem of fish. If you are lucky, you may even catch sight of the magnificent Aurora Australis at night.
