Ibirapuera Park is one of the largest urban parks in South America, sprawling over 545 acres.

Ibirapuera Park is one of the largest urban parks in South America, sprawling over 545 acres. Inaugurated in 1954 for the 400th anniversary of the city, it features several buildings designed by Oscar Niemeyer and some monuments and pavilions. Highlights include ✓Lucas Nogueira Garcez Pavilion, which has the Museu da Aeronáutica and the Museu do Folclore, ✓Flying-saucer shaped Planetarium, ✓Monument to the Bandeiras by Italian-Brazilian sculptor Victor Brecheret, ✓Obelisk of São Paulo, a 72 metre tall symbol of the Constitutionalist Revolution of 1932, and ✓Manoel da Nóbrega Pavilion, which houses the Museu Afro Brasil – which is dedicated to Blacks in Brazil.
