The Port Natal Maritime Museum on the Durban Harbour explores the city's seafaring tradition and maritime heritage. The exhibition in Brittania Room displays photographs and drawings which trace the development of the Port of Durban over 170 years from Bay to Port, as well as navigation tools and communication equipment linking ships at sea to land. Quayside exhibits include the 75-year old coal-fired steam powered Ulundi, NCS Challenger yacht, and Khayalethu deep sea fishing boat. Visitors can also explore the decks of the JR Moore tugboat from 1960, and the SAS Durban, a 42-year old naval minesweeper.
