The first floor of the Durban City Hall is home to the small but interesting Natural Science Museum. Geared towards school kids, the museum presents various facets of the Earth's evolution and life over the ages. The exhibits and programmes offer a good introduction to biodiversity, conservation and ecology. It showcases realistic dioramas, taxidermy specimen, a life-size reconstruction of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, a Dodo skeleton and the Egyptian mummy, Peten Amen. Admission is free.
