The Civico Museo di Storia Naturale di Trieste is a natural history museum which houses over 2 million botanical, zoological, mineralogical, geological, and paleontological specimens from the Adriatic and Karst region. Highlights include the 75 million year old Antonio dinosaur fossil - a specimen of Tethyshadros insularis from Villaggio del Pescatore, the Lonche mandible, Rudists from over 65 million years ago, Wunderkammer – Cabinet of Curiosities, Carlotta- a 5.4 metre long white shark, and fossils of the Acynodon adriaticus - an oyster-eating crocodile, and the Carsosaurus Marchesetti - a primitive marine reptile.
