Dating back to the 1st-2nd century, the Roman Theatre at the foot of San Giusto in Trieste is a gigantic 6000 seater amphitheatre which hosts occasional concerts during the summer months. Constructed by Quintus Petronius Modestus under the reign of Emperor Traianus, the theatre was rediscovered in the 19th century and restored.
