Onnelik Korstnapuhkija or the Lucky Chimney Sweeper is a bronze statue of a short chimney sweeper standing in Suur-Karja in Tallinn's Old Town. According to a popular Estonian legend, rubbing the coat buttons of a chimney sweep is believed to bring good luck, and grabbing a button off is certainly a good luck charm. This was one of the major reasons why so many chimney sweeps used to have missing coat buttons. This statue is a way to honor those soot cleaners, who along with scouring chimneys also brought good luck. It depicts a jolly chimney sweep, trotting on his way to work wearing a top hat and coat. Make sure you rub the coat buttons of this statue!
