The historic Capitol Theatre hosts world class live performances of musicals, theatre, ballet, and concerts. The building has been variously redeveloped since it was the Belmore fruit and vegetable market designed by George McRae. Used as a hippodrome for the Wirth Bros circus, and then as an atmospheric movie palace, the building was restored in the 1990s as a lyric theatre. Its programme of critically acclaimed shows and hit musicals includes the likes of Mamma Mia, Swan Lake on Ice, and Jersey Boys. Book your tickets in advance to enjoy the ambience and great performances.
