Spread over 25 acres, the Alaska Zoo is one of the most visited attractions in the area. It is home to about 100 birds and mammals spanning 50 species. Apart from native Alaskan species such as otters, polar bears, caribou, bears and wolves which thrive in the Arctic, it hosts exotic mammals such as Amur tigers, Bactrian Camels, and yaks.
