Alaska's stark landscapes have some interesting Arctic flora, and the Alaska Botanical Garden maintains 150 representative native Alaskan plant species. The Wildflower Trail runs through common Alaskan wildflower beds, while the Anchorage Heritage Garden presents an old-style Anchorage garden. The Upper and Lower Perennial Gardens have about a 1000 other resilient perennials, such as delphiniums, poppies, peonies, hostas, and roses. The landscaped Lile’s Garden has Gold Medal Peonies and Primulas. The Rock Garden has a collection of specialized alpine plants and Tufa rocks.
