Centered around the Mosque-Cathedral, it extends from the south-east bank of the Rio Guadalquivir to the Calle San Fernando in the east, the commercial centre in the north, and the AIcázar and the San Basilio quarter in the west. Walk around the area to discover the various historical monuments, such as the Puente Romano, Torre Calahorra, Cabalienzas Reales, Sinagoga, San Bartolomé, Congress Centre, San Nicolás, San Pelagio Seminary, Royal Stables, Puerta del Puente, Palacio del Marqués de la Fuensanta del Valle, Convento de Santa Clara, and the Episcopal Palace which houses the Diocesan Fine Arts Museum. There are traditional Andalusian houses built around inner courtyards, the best of which can be seen on Calleja de las Flores.
