The Trinity Chapel at the east end of Canterbury Cathedral was built in the 12th century as a shrine for the relics of St. Thomas Becket.

The Trinity Chapel at the east end of Canterbury Cathedral was built in the 12th century as a shrine for the relics of St. Thomas Becket. It was a popular pilgrimage site until its destruction by King Henry VIII. A candle marks the site of the shrine today. Other notable tombs in the area include those of the Black Prince, and King Henry IV and his second wife Joan of Navarre, Queen of England.
