De Halve Maan is the only surviving home brewery in Bruges, run by the Maes family since 1856 on the Walplein. The museum traces the history of the brewery and brewing in Bruges. 45 minute long guided tours of the brewery in Dutch, French and English are organized daily between 11 am and 4 pm on the hour. You can learn about the different traditional processes involved in making beer from malt and hops, and afterwards sample some of the brews such as Straffe Hendrike and Brugse Zot.
