The Church of San Juan del Hospital in Valencia was built in the 13th century by the Military Order of the Hospital Knights of San Juan de Jerusalém (Order of Malta). One of the oldest churches in the city, it combines Romanesque , Valencian and Baroque Gothic styles. The entrance is marked by a Baroque house of the Patio del Via Crucis which has the preserved architectural ruins of the original foundation. Next to it is the 17th century bell tower. The interiors have a single nave with a pointed vault that leads to the main altar with an image of Our Lady the Virgin of the Miracle. Also of note is the Baroque Chapel of Santa Barbara which contains the remains of Constanza Augusta, Empress of Greece.
