North Station, Valencia

The Estació del Nord is Valencia's main railway station, and worth visiting even if you are not taking the train.

The Estació del Nord is Valencia's main railway station, and worth visiting even if you are not taking the train. The sprawling Modernisme building was built in 1906-'17 to Vienna Secessionist style designs by Demetrio Ribes. The station has three extended pavilions, with 5 bays on each side flanking the central pavilion which features a bronze clock. It is surmounted by an eagle on a globe. The facade features brightly colored ceramic decorations of agricultural motifs, while the interiors have azulejos depicting scenes from the surroundings and the Albufera of Valencia.
