The Serranos Towers is one of the 12 gates in the ancient Christian Walls (Muralla cristiana) of Valencia, monitoring the northeast traffic to the city on the road connecting it with Els Serrans and Barcelona. Built in Valencian Gothic style in the 14th century, the pentagonal stone towers have crenellated edges and were mostly used for defensive purposes, but also served as a prison in the 16th – 19th century. Climb up to the top for panoramics views over Valencia.
