Part of the City of the Arts and Sciences complex in Valencia, the Oceanografic is the largest aquarium in Europe with over 45,000 marine animals across 500 species inhabiting its tanks. Built in the shape of a water lily surrounded by water, it has different zones for species from different habitats - the Mediterranean Sea, Arctic, Antarctic, tropical seas, temperate seas, Red Sea, South American islands, and mangrove swamps and wetlands. It is home to sharks, penguins, sea lions, walruses, seals, jellyfish and beluga whales. The park also has one of the largest dolphinariums in the world, with 5 pools and a depth of 10.5 metres. After viewing the fascinating array of animals, you can have lunch at the underwater restaurant in the midst of marine life.
