The National Palace of Culture in Sofia is a multifunctional exhibition and conference center which was founded in 1981 to commemorate the 1300th anniversary of Bulgaria. The 11 storey Communisty style building and surrounding grounds sprawling over 123,000 m2 host numerous international conventions, political forums, business conferences, scientific symposiums, music and film festivals, concerts, dance performances, theatre, exhibitions and fairs all year round.
