Saint Nedelya Church is a medieval Eastern Orthodox church that dates back to the 10th century. It has been destroyed and reconstructed several times over the centuries, and the present Neo-Byzantine structure was built in the 1950s to designs by the architectural team of Vasilyov-Tsolov. Its interiors have striking frescoes by some of Bulgaria’s master-painters, and contain relics of 14th century Serbian king Stefan Milutin, 19th century gilded wood carved iconostasis, and a tapestry depicting the Resurrection.
