The Nakayama-dera is 6thcentury temple dedicated to Kannon, the Goddess of Mercy who is believed to aid in easy childbirth. It is number 24 of the 33 temples on the Kansai Kannon Pilgrimage. Behind the temple is a plum tree forest that blooms in February – March, transforming the landscape into a pink and white wonderland.
