Allauch is a charming hillside commune that is located 15 kilometres to the north-east of Marseille in the Bouches-du-Rhône in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. It has several attractions such as the Notre Dame du Château, Musée d’Allauch - Museum of Sacred Art of France which showcases religious works, Moulin Ricard – an 18th century windmill and granary, Château de Fontvieille, Théâtre de Nature, Galerie du Vieux Bassin, and Galerie de l’Usine. It retains its traditional Provencal culture with festivals and celebrations all through the year, the main being the Fête de la Saint Jean in June, Saint Laurent Festival in August, a donkey fair in early December, and a Christmas market, Gros Souper, and shepherds' procession during the holidays.
