The London Eye is relatively new to the neighbourhood, but has become an integral part of the London skyline and is a major tourist attraction on the Thames banks. A gigantic, 135 metre-high ferris wheel with 32 exterior glass-walled capsules, it offers stunning views of central London, up to 40 km away in fair weather as you leisurely complete a revolution. On a busy day, you can easily spend 2 hours queuing up just to buy a ticket, so it is always advisable to book online well in advance.
