Huong Pagoda 0.0 rating

70 kms to the south of Hanoi, Huong Pagoda is a sprawling complex of Buddhist temples and shrines in the Huong Tich limestone mountains that form a pilgrimage site for the Vietnamese. The Huong Pagoda festival season lasts from January to March as per the lunar year, and throngs of devotees crowd out the caves during this period. The central highlight is the iconic Chua Trong (Perfume Temple) in the Huong Tich Cave which is believed to have been visited by Bodhisattva Quan Am. The craggy grotto has been set up as a pagoda, with wall carvings and statues of the Buddha, various Arhats and others. Some of the stalactites and stalagmites here are believed to possess special powers. The Thien Tru (Heaven Kitchen) pagoda holds a statue of Quan Am and has a rebuilt bell tower along with a Hall of the Triple Gem. The Den Trinh (Presentation Shrine), Tuyet Kinh Cave, and Giai Oan pagoda are part of the complex.
