The 5.6 km long cable-stayed Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link, better known as the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, runs across the Mahim Bay connecting the western suburb of Bandra to Worli in the south. Completed in 2010, the 8-lane bridge has become a major landmark and is beautifully illuminated at night. The 128 metre high concrete pylons soar into the sky, tying in cables from the central span of the bridge at the top. It reduces the previous travel time from Bandra to Worli of 60 - 90 minutes by more than half.
