The Atsuta Shrine is a hallowed Shinto shrine from the 1stcentury, home to the legendary imperial sword, Kusanagi no Tsurugi which is one of the 3 Sacred Treasues of Japan. It is dedicated to the Atsuta-no-Ōkami, and the 'Five Great Gods of Atsuta' who are connected with the Tsurugi. Rebuilt after its destruction in World War II, the Atsuta Shrine has a treasure hall with over 4000 historical relics and national treasures, including manuscripts, masks, mirrors, garments, and swords.
