The Grotta Lighthouse stands on the rocky islet of Grotta on the peninsula of Seltjarnanes at the north-westernmost point in Reykjavik. Built in the early 20th century, it is a hiking destination from central Reykjavik and takes under an hour to reach by foot. It offers great views over the city and Faxa Bay, as well as the Northern Lights between November and February.
