Barossa Valley

  Nature and Parks

The Barossa Valley is one of Australia's important wine regions, located 70 kms north-east of Adelaide. It is home to the world-famous Barossa Shiraz and Eden Valley Riesling among other premium wines. Inhabited by English and German settlers from 1842, the region has a European culture peppered with Australian spirit, which is evident in the cuisine as well as architecture. Tour the Barossa Valley to see the Bavarian villages with historic churches, stone buildings, cottages and baroque Italienate Chateaux, and sample some fabulous wines at the wineries.

There are several small boutique wineries, along with larger producers associated with household names such as Jacobs Creek, Gramps, Penfolds, Tolleys, Peter Lehmann, Henschke, Seppelt, Yaldara and Yalumba.
