Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib is an important and historical Sikh place of worship, built on the spot where their 9th leader, Guru Tegh Bahadur, was beheaded on the orders of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. It preserves historically significant memorabilia such as the trunk of tree under which the Guru was beheaded, the prison where he was held captive and the well where he bathed while in the prison. The museum nearby has good material on Sikh religious history.
