The 18th century City Palace, once the seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur, harmoniously blends traditional Rajput and Mughal architecture. The sprawling complex grounds house several impressive palatial structures such as the Chandra Mahal (home to the present Maharajah of Jaipur and a museum), Mubarak Mahal (housing a museum exhibiting traditional embroidery, textiles, and period costumes), Badal Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple, Diwan-e-Khas (or Hall of Private audience housing the two largest silver vessels in the world, mentioned in the Guinness Book), the Diwan-e-Aam ( or Hall of Public Audience), Maharani Palace (housing weapons museum), and the gateway Ridhi Sidhi Pol (with four small doorways decorated with motifs depicting the four seasons).
