Hanoi Citadel 0.0 rating

The central Citadel of Hanoi was the former residence of Vietnamese monarchs dating back to 1010 AD when the city was known as Thăng Long. The enclosure with palaces, pavilions, gates, towers and royal buildings built by the Ly Viet Dynasty on drained land reclaimed from the Red River Delta was the residence of monarchs till 1810, after which they were largely destroyed by the French in the 19th century, with only a few structures such as the Flag Gate and North Tower still standing. Excavations have unearthed more archaeological finds. The Central Sector of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long - Hanoi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its unique South-East Asian culture specific to the lower Red River Valley.
