Dedicated to Saint Lawrence, the Genoa Cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of Genoa.

Dedicated to Saint Lawrence, the Genoa Cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of Genoa. Built in the 12th– 14thcentury, it has a Gothic main façade and Romanesque sides. The church has notable works of art, including Lazzaro Tavarone's gilded stucco work of 'Martyrdom of St Lawrence' in the apse, ceiling frescoes in a chapel by Luca Cambiaso, and 'St. John the Baptist' by Andrea Sansovino. The Museo del Tesoro (Museum of the Treasury) under the cathedral houses a collection of jewellery and silverware from the 9thcentury to the present.
