Tunnel Beach, Dunedin

The secluded Tunnel Beach offers stunning scenery of sea-carved sandstone cliffs, rock arches and caves.

The secluded Tunnel Beach offers stunning scenery of sea-carved sandstone cliffs, rock arches and caves. The fenced track that leads downhill to the rocky coastline ends at a hand-carved rock tunnel that gives the beach its name. Though the path is slippery at times, it is well worth the undertaking for the beautiful views of waves crashing on the rocks.
