The distinctively shaped Lion's Head peak rises to a height of 669 metres between Table Mountain and Signal Hill, which was earlier called Lion's Tail. The short but steep 1.5 hour ascent to the top rewards hikers with incredible views of Cape Town, Peninsula, Table Bay, and Robben Island. The entrance to the hiking trail is on Signal Hill Road at the base of Forestry Road. The path is marked with adequate signage, and offers close views of the varied fynbos vegetation.
