Holland’s best-selling beer, Heineken, was first produced in 1867 from this facility in Stadhouderskade, though today it is produced in a different factory in Zoeterwoude. Explore the world of pilsner with a behind the scenes tour of the premises with the Heineken Experience. Learn how beer is processed from malted barley, water, hops and their special yeast before bottling; try some wort; experience a 4-D movie on beer; and see brewery architecture, the brew room with vintage brass beer tanks, stables, historical advertisements, and old photographs of the Heineken family. Pour out a pint, and sample some of the brews for free.
