The Sandia Peak Tramway leads all the way up to the observation deck atop the 10,378 ft Sandia Peak in the Cibola National Forest, and is the longest aerial tramway in the USA. An engineering marvel built in 1966, the tramway offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Rio Grande Valley and Land of Enchantment. It is especially gorgeous at sunset. While you can also hike and bike up to the peak of the Sandia Mountains, the tramway gets you there in 15 minutes. Wear warm clothes as the temperature can fall upto 30 degrees lower at that altitude.
