The Couven Museum offers a glimpse into 18th and 19th century living, through displays of house interiors and furniture. Built in 1662, it initially served as a pharmacy and was later renovated in rococo style in 1786 as a typical town house. Today, individual rooms reflect upper-middle class furnishing styles from rococo and early classicism to Napoleonic empire style and Biedermeier, complete with historical furniture, ornate silverware and kitchen equipment. The recreated Adler Apotheke is a throwback to the earliest years of the building.
