  Nature and Parks

Duiker Island, part of the Karbonkelberg Marine Protected Area, lies in the Atlantic Ocean off Hout Bay. The tiny 0.4 hectare island attracts a lot of marine wildlife such as birds and fur seals. Boat cruises to Duiker Island embark from the Mariner's Wharf in Hout Bay harbour. You can also try snorkeling in the waters to get up close with the seals.
