The Eglise Notre-Dame-d'Espérance on top of La Suquet is a 16th century church dedicated to Our Lady of Hope, built to replace the Notre-Dame-du-Puy. The church is majorly in Gothic style, with a Renaissance porch. The high altar has a gilded wooden statue from the 17th century of Our Lady of Hope holding a ship anchor in her hand, and the pulpit has panels depicting the Four Evangelists. The 8 side chapels are dedicated to the guilds of craftsmen. Cannes’ origins as a fishing village are evident in the boat models which can be seen below the statues of various saints. The Chapelle des Baptêmes has a rare 14th century sculpture from Burgundy of St Anne. The church has a good collection of 19th century paintings, including frescoes by George Roux depicting the baptism of Christ.

The Romanesque square bell tower of the church is also a famous landmark. You can get great views of the city, bay and the Esterel Massif from here.
