The Chinese Garden in Zurich is a vibrant, lush park that was a gift from Chinese sister city Kunming in return for Zurich's technical help in the development of water supply systems there.
The Chinese Garden in Zurich is a vibrant, lush park that was a gift from Chinese sister city Kunming in return for Zurich's technical help in the development of water supply systems there. With water being a fundamental element to the relationship between the cities, the centre of the garden is a pond with a small island. It has pavilions and a small palace on the banks. The park is themed around Suihan Sanyou (Three Friends of Winter) - pine, bamboo, and plum. The garden is surrounded by a red wall with a yellow Chinese roof.
