Old St. Paul's was the cathedral of the Diocese of Wellington of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia from 1866 to 1964 when the new St Paul's Cathedral nearby came up.

Old St. Paul's was the cathedral of the Diocese of Wellington of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia from 1866 to 1964 when the new St Paul's Cathedral nearby came up. The historic Gothic Revival building is used for weddings and events today. Constructed on the site of the Pipitea Pā Māori settlement, the native timber building has breathtaking interiors with stunning stained glass windows and drawers of old vestments. Some of the walls and columns are decorated with memorial plaques, and the nave has flags of the Royal Navy, New Zealand Merchant Navy, and the United States Marine Corps (second division), which was stationed in Wellington during World War II. Take a guided tours to learn more about the history and architecture of the building. Brochures are available in French, German, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese.
