The White House is the official residence and workplace of the President of the United States, and Washington DC's most famous address.

The White House is the official residence and workplace of the President of the United States, and Washington DC's most famous address. Built in the late 18th century in Neoclassical style, the iconic building has been the residence of every U.S. president since John Adams in 1800. The complex is divided into –

  • Executive Residence where the president lives and entertains guests,
  • West Wing which has the Oval Office and offices of senior staff,
  • East Wing which has the offices and staff of the First Lady, and the White House Social Office,
  • Eisenhower Executive Office Building where the Vice President and other President's staff work,
  • Blair House, the guest residence.

It is surrounded by 18 acres of perfectly manicured green lawns with gardens and flowerbeds.

Tours of the complex can be requested through members of Congress atleast 21 days prior to your visit. International visitors have to contact their home country’s embassy in Washington DC.
