Stretching over 2 miles in the east-west direction on the banks of the Potomac River, the National Mall is the most visited national park in the USA. The entire area, between Lincoln Memorial and the United States Capitol, is dotted with historical monuments, inspiring memorials and the Constitution Gardens. Memorials of note are the Washington Monument, World War II Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, The Three Soldiers Statue, Vietnam Women's Memorial, and District of Columbia War Memorial. It has a host of excellent museums of the Smithsonian Institution, including the National Air and Space Museum, National Museum of Natural History, National Museum of American History, National Museum of the American Indian, and Arthur M.
